  A Personal Message from D.D. DuBois ~

  As I was working hard on my first Erotic Compilation of Books I-IV in the “Cottage of Carnal Delights” Series, I found myself instinctively going beyond just cutting and pasting the four separate stories into one new volume. It still would’ve technically been a “Compilation” had I simply done so, and one that still befitted a higher asking price (with the added benefit of having a marked savings of about 25% for buying 4 books in 1). But I soon realized, as I was putting it all together, that it somehow just wasn’t good enough for me. I didn’t want to just put together the original four stories and then call it a day: I wanted to do something much more.

  When I re-visited the colorful stories of Jack and Jordan and their wild trysts in the woods, I realized that instead of just doing a quick proofreading before compiling them, I honestly wanted to work on them more. Unerringly, I found myself going through each story, one by one, and extending them by adding new details, working to create deeper and more likeable characters, crafting a more involved story-line, creating a better plot with more profound explanations for Jack ‘sand Jordan’s individual motives and inner desires, and basically setting up a series that, in the end, had now become about so much more than just good, hot, erotic, steamy sex.

  I am in no way diminishing any of the original versions of all four stories. Each one is a fun, good, sexy, exciting, stimulating read, well-worth the $0.99 asking price. And each story has great characterizations, descriptions, and detailed sex-scenes. But as a consummate, romantic perfectionist, having given myself the opportunity to expound upon the stories while re-releasing them in the very first compilation, I jumped on the opportunity to take a closer look at the relationship between Jack and Jordan. Knowing now that this is going to be a 12 Book Series that will probably be the size of two regular novels by the time it’s completed, I wanted to make sure that Jack and Jordan’s relationship, throughout the entire course of the series, would be truly and completely evolved. Not just by extending the sex and the action at the Cottage, but by giving the reader an idea of where they would go in their lives once their week-long torrid and intense affair was finally over. To answer that, I had to go back and lay a better foundation; one that could not only sweep Jack and Jordan away in an erotic, orgasmic ecstasy in the short term, but that also had the potential to engulf them and hold them; for quite possibly an eternity.

  And you can be certain, it wasn’t just the characters and their “feelings” that got a bit of a re-work; the sex scenes weren’t spared either. They became longer, more stimulating, more vividly intense, and even hotter. Some of the erotic scenes were even increased in length by more than 50%.

  As I did this general “overhaul”, the book that I ended up investing the most change into, however, was Book I: “Bitten and Bound”. Because it is the initial lead-in from which all the other stories spring, it is also the one that begged the most additions. As such, this new Book, in itself, became filled with over double the material, thusly ending up being nearly three times as long. In fact, “Bitten and Bound” had so much added material; I decided to release the book for a second time via this “Unleashed” edition; so as to distinguish it clearly from the first. However, in this fast-paced world, some readers will always be more interested in shorter, more concise, faster-paced, erotic reads, with less overall “setting” detail, and less character development. This, I can totally understand. So for those of my fans who enjoy the briefer stories that are more focused on the erotic sex scenes than an extended, more involved plot; I am leaving the original “Bitten And Bound” available for purchase alongside this newer, more extended version.

  Books II-IV were also expanded and updated, to ensure that the Compilation, which is due to be published 8/5/12, provided the best story I could possibly tell. But none of them ended up being so significantly longer that they required an entire new “version” to be released. Accordingly, these three stories will just be gradually phased into their existing listings in the Amazon Kindle Marketplace, sometime within the next few weeks (which will be duly noted on each sales page as they are uploaded). In the meantime, their newer, fuller versions will be currently available in the newly-released collection; “The Cottage of Carnal Delights: Unbidden” (The Erotic, Extended, Uncut Compilation Part I ~ Books I-IV).

  As for this new version of “Bitten and Bound”, I hope you like this longer, more tantalizing edition. I certainly poured everything I had into it, and hopefully by doing so, I created a deep, intense, and enigmatic “well” from which the next 11 Books can fruitfully and efficaciously spring. If this is your first introduction to this series; I wish you the warmest of welcomes. And, if you have already purchased “Bitten And Bound” previously, but decided to buy this edition to get the fuller, longer story, I can assure you that this new “Unleashed” version has enough added material within its “covers” to certainly make it worth your while. I have spent many hours, days, and weeks working on it; and it is finally ready for you. Enjoy!

  Important Information Regarding What Lies Within This Book:

  Having read a recent ‘review’ on Amazon of my first Book “Bitten and Bound” (that basically claimed my story was “worse than rape and torture” and that I was something less than human for having written it), I wanted to make an extra special effort to inform people of the premise of the BDSM lifestyle BEFORE they begin to read any of my Books in the future. A reasonable author might imagine that someone buying one of her Books would have taken at least the briefest of moments to notice the CLEAR and CONCISE warning on her Books’ initial sales pages on Amazon, which cautioned all readers that each one “contains explicit sexual interactions, with themes of mild rape and female submission between two adults…if this subject offends you, please avoid reading this selection”. In addition, a further and even more categorical warning was (and is) printed in the first few pages of each and every Book, including the first edition of “Bitten And Bound” which was what this review was referring to. Unfortunately, both warnings were quite obviously ignored by the reader who left the review.

  So, having honestly thought that I’d done more than my due diligence in my duty to warn people who are easily upset by mature, BDSM themes about the possible contents within these pages, I was understandably shocked (by this review) to learn that I had somehow still failed. So, I have no recourse but to try even HARDER to notify potential readers of the content of my work BEFORE they choose whether or not to delve into it.

  Alternately, I also read a totally different review on the UK site that took me to “task” rather gently for warning people that my stories contain “mild themes of rape”. And they were right to make note of this in their comments; they were absolutely correct in their assertion that the BDSM lifestyle does NOT involve “rape”, in any way, shape, or form. It was a misnomer on my part, and I had used that term merely because I was aware of the potential for general misconceptions about this kind of sexual lifestyle. And that was a mistake on my part, and a disservice to those who are involved in any way in the BDSM-themed existence (whether in thought, deed, fantasy, day-to-day life, etc.).

  Those of us who are c
omfortable with the BDSM life know that it is not “rape”, nor is it “rape-themed” – but I was worried (as I obviously had reason to be), that some people would read the story, misunderstand it, and get highly upset by it. Accordingly, I now feel that I owe it to myself, to my readers, and to those who might be offended by my stories to first, further clarify WHAT these Books have in them and to reiterate that the BDSM lifestyle is NOT RAPE, and secondly, to give an indubitably CLEAR warning to any who might be uncomfortable with the underlying premise of these Books, so that NO ONE ever feels compelled to leave such a review again. So, please bear with me as I go out of my way to accomplish these two goals. If you have no concerns whatsoever about BDSM or explicit adult erotica, feel free to skip ahead to the actual story.

  An Instructive Foreword on the BDSM Lifestyle:

  BDSM writing at its core can (and very often does) involve the premise of a certain amount of “force” (or coercion, aggressive behaviors, and domination/submission) being used during sex play and intercourse. For those not comfortable with, or unfamiliar with the BDSM lifestyle, this has the potential to be viewed as something akin to “rape”. The differences between actual rape, and BDSM-“force/role-playing”, however, are quite extreme. Most importantly, those involved in these types of sexual fantasies and games are absolutely consenting, which can be easily deduced by the reader, even if the author does not specifically always spell that out, each and every time.

  Much of the role-playing that is involved in BDSM is for the submissive party to put forth an effort to “escape” or to “fight back”, with the dominant party subduing his or her lover, and ultimately using control and discipline to bring their partner heightened sexual pleasure. Even if one party is appearing to “fight” and the other party is appearing to “force”, the sex is meant purely to please, and not to damage or harm.

  The “force” or “coercion” that is used in BDSM-themed sexual encounters is specifically for mutual enjoyment, and not for causing the other party pain or physical or emotional damage (as is such the case in actual instances of “rape”). The portrayal of these BDSM-themed interactions as being pleasurable to both parties; is a clear and concise indicator that the physical and emotional “pressure” being used during the sex-play is ultimately consented to and enjoyed by BOTH/ALL parties involved. As such, the amounts of “fight” and “force” exhibited, are both purposefully orchestrated so as to bring about the highest amount of physical fulfillment during sexual encounters, and so as to create erotically enjoyable stories for readers who choose to look further into the BDSM lifestyle. These stories do NOT involve true “rape”, but as the premise of the “appearance of forced sex” is present, regardless of the fact that the parties are genuinely, ultimately consenting and mutually satisfied, THIS DOES STILL HAVE THE POTENTIAL TO BE HIGHLY OFFENSIVE TO SOME READERS.
